Cham Bani (Cham Kram Kan Imam San) Cambodia Cham Bani is the small group of Cham ethnic in Cambodia. They have settled in Cambodia for hundred-years ago after broken the ancient Kingdom of Champa, in central of Vietnam nowadays, by Vietnamese. In fact, there have been two kinds of Cham in Cambodia are Cham Changvang (Modern or Islamic Cham) and Cham Bani (Cham Kram Kan Imam San). The biggest group is Cham Changvang; they are living in almost in Cambodia. But Cham Bani, they are just living in several provinces only such as in Kampong Chhnang, Pursat and Battam Bang province. Originally, they were from the ancient Champa but when they reached in Cambodia, they have been living separately. It was found the biggest Cham community in Cambodia is in Kampong Cham province, the province that the most people believed it should be the first place where Cham come in Cambodia. But some researchers believed that the province where Cham had settled first was Takao province. That was the problem should be a new topic to study more and more as possible. We hope that we will be able to find out more information on it for the next issue. Now, in this issue, we will talk about Cham Bani in Cambodia. It was spent a lot of times to do research on Cham Bani. They always hide the real information to the researchers. They have believed that most of researchers do business on them and make profit by selling the any parts of their documents. So that was the main problems to us who are the real researcher. In fact, we would like to learn the real things from them in order to make any documents for next generations, also including their generations. However, it was against the problem, we have finished the first Cham bani Censuses in Cambodia. This was the first time of Cham bani in Cambodia was made. It was made under providing information from their leader, Uknha Knour Kai Tam, and the mosques’ leader from the provinces where are settling in. According the completed-form and interview, I have compiled them at home; it was shown that there are Cham Bani around 15417, females 8059, living in Cambodia. This number, there was not any one made before because they (Cham Bani) are living in the rural areas of the country and furthermore they are hided themselves. They always hided identity and less people knew where they are living. Expectation I hope that this paper will be more useful for every one such as researchers, Students, Scholars, and States.
